By setting up a limited company, one can obtain a business residence permit, which gives the right to be a resident in Schengen for 10 years. By obtaining this permit, one will have the right to live and work in any Schengen country. After 8 years, should one choose to live in the EU, one will also be eligible for the passport.

Hungary residence permit Process

Step 1

Candidate will have a Zoom call or phone call with our Hungary residency experts in English or the native language.

Step 2

The professional team will assist in opening a company in Hungary fully remotely via video notary appointment. The candidate will become a shareholder and director of that company.

Step 3

After the company is incorporated, the professional team will prepare all necessary applications for submission

Step 4

The candidate will visit Hungary once (in the capita,l Budapest,) where the professional team on the ground will guide the candidate through bank account opening processes and will assist in obtaining government portal access for the new company, as well as a tax identification number for the candidate.

Step 5

In order to fulfill the residency requirement, the candidate must rent an apartment (residential address) in Hungary. The professional team will assist with this process and rental prices begin from approximately 500 EUR/monthly for a standard 1-bedroom apartment.

Step 6

All necessary paperwork will be completed, and the application will be submitted.

Step 7

Upon a favorable outcome, the candidate will receive a two-year residence permit, with a renewal option for 10 years. This process will take approximately 4-8 weeks to receive approval.

Requirements for the Residency in Hungary by Investment

To be eligible for the Hungary investment visa, the principal applicant must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Clean criminal record Health Certificate
  • Passport with validation time of minimum 2 years
  • 2 Passport photos

Legal Framework of Hungary Residency

The Hungarian Labor Code regulates relationships between employees and employers. In this Code there are provisions common to all EU countries, and they generally favor the employee.

Foreign founders (of non-EU and EEA member countries) of Hungarian companies may obtain

residence permits in Hungary so long as they can confirm that the business provides them with at least an income of EUR 1500. These rules were implemented in March 2024. Law 2023 XC governs these terms and conditions.
